OAC Program
In partnership with The Salvation Army and Headspace, Conflict Resolution Service provides the OAC program that works with young people, aged 15- 24, who are living in crisis, transitional accommodation and longer-term housing with The Salvation Army. The OAC program supports young people to recognise patterns in their lives and build the skills to create safer, more positive outcomes. Like an oak tree that grows strong and resilient over time, the program supports young people to grow through challenges and stand strong.
Program Features
The OAC program works to reduce youth homelessness and support healing, recovery and safety following conflict. The OAC practitioner can support young people to prevent further family breakdown, strengthen emotional regulation, rebuild confidence, improve communication skills, develop healthy coping strategies and assist young people to navigate challenging dynamics towards them being well-connected and safe. The OAC practitioner can support young people either individually or facilitate joint sessions with a family member, guardian or peer to help repair and rebuild relationships. The OAC practitioner can meet with young people in the community, at home, or in private youth friendly spaces.
