Program Manager – Supporting Adolescent Boys Trial (FDSV Prevention)
CRS has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced trauma informed leader: Supporting young men and adolescent boys to be successful, to change their current life trajectory to one which is healing, wholesome and fulfilling. Making a stance to end the generational cycles of trauma.
CRS works with children, youth and families to preserve, restore and reunify relationships. Our programs work directly with young people at risk through our licenced evidenced-based, trauma informed, therapeutic program – the Willow program.
Commencing November 2024, CRS is trialling a therapeutic support service in the ACT for the next 2.5 years, specifically to work with young men and adolescent boys aged 12 to 18 years who present with adverse childhood experiences including family or domestic violence, and/or who are using or at risk of using Family Domestic and/or Sexual Violence (FDSV), to break the cycle of violence.
The objective of the Trial is to test a therapeutic individual support service that is trauma and healing informed for young men and adolescent boys to:
1. support participants’ recovery and healing from their experience of family and domestic violence
2. help participants to avoid choosing to use FDSV
3. build the evidence base on effective support service approaches to supporting young men and boys exposed to family and domestic violence to reduce the risk of them using FDSV.
The trial will be independently evaluated by an external organisation.
