Restorative Family Therapy Program

“In partnership with The Salvation Army, Conflict Resolution Service provides the Restorative Family Therapy program that works with young people, aged 15- 24, who are living in crisis, transitional accommodation and longer-term housing.  CRS provide specialist family mediation and conflict resolution services designed to prevent young people from entering the specialist homelessness system and/or providing pathways out of homelessness through family reconciliation.

Restorative Family Therapy works to rebuild and improve young people’s relationships with their families. Family Practitioners assist young people to navigate challenging dynamics towards them being well- connected and safe.

This may be achieved through individual coaching sessions, as well as mediation sessions to assist young people be better understood. Restorative Family Therapy Practitioners also support young people to gain insight into the perspectives of their families and towards meaningful relationships with them.  Skill building is undertaken with young people relating to emotional regulation, coping strategies, effective communication and conflict management”.
