Conflict Resolution Services is a nationally accredited mediation service that resolves conflict professionally, competently and compassionately.

As a not-for-profit, we are the leading alternative dispute resolution in the Australian Capital Territory. We are professionals that work in partnership with courts, and are the preferred provider for Government, businesses, the community and individuals to resolve conflict.

In a distinctive way, CRS respects the rights and voices of all parties engaged in resolving conflict. We are also the only locally-based and nationally accredited mediation training organisation.

As a charitable organisation, Conflict Resolution Services keeps costs low to ensure the Canberra Region can access the services they require in a time of need.

Conflict Resolution Services is a registed not-for-profit organisation that has been supporting the Canberra Region in dispute resolution services for over 30 years. Our professional services include:

Senior Manager – Services

Have you successfully led a team? 

CRS is seeking a Senior Manager – Services to join our team on a 12 month contract.

Working with the Chief Executive Officer, this position will be responsible for the oversight of all program managers. You will be responsible for ensuring all programs under your portfolio operate at a high level, meeting all reporting and KPI requirements.

All our programs are evidenced based and are provided within a trauma informed lens.

This position will have extensive knowledge and experience working in management positions and have direct experience working in conflict resolution.

Manager – Children, Family & Youth Programs

This position will have extensive knowledge and experience working in management positions and have direct experience working in children, family and youth programs and work as part of a collaborative team within a therapeutic, strengths-based approach in a caring and supportive environment.

The Manager will be responsible in delivering the programs within the Children, Family and Youth portfolio and other services identified. This position will be responsible for the operational and Financial management of all current and new programs which fall within the portfolio.

Team Leader – Children, Family & Youth Programs

Full-time and Part time positions available

As a result of Organisational growth Conflict Resolution Service is looking for an experienced Team Leader who has experience with intensive case management and/or therapeutic support for young people and families.

The Team Leader will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support children, young people and their families within a therapeutic, strengths-based approach in a caring and supportive environment.

The Children, Family and Youth programs support children, young people and their families to improve family functioning and deliver services through the following programs:

• Safe and Connected Youth Program
• Family Connections Program
• Family Support Program

In close collaboration with the Manager, Case Workers, Practitioners and Counsellors, the Team Leader will support and facilitate the preservation and reunification of young people and their families, through the coordination of therapeutic support. This includes performing intakes with all new families; holding a small case load; and the leadership and supervision of a team of Family Mediators and Therapeutic Case Workers.

Selection Criteria

• Experience in Leadership/supervisory role
• Demonstrated experience in intensive case management and/or therapeutic support to young people and families following strength-based case management principles and procedures
• Understanding and demonstrated use of a client centred, holistic approach when working with clients
• Extensive knowledge and experience in trauma informed practice
• Proven ability to work in collaboration with other service providers to improve quality of life for young people and/or families
• High level interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Well-developed written and communication skills and ability to document comprehensive case notes

Therapeutic Case Manager

The Children, Family and Youth programs support children, young people and their families to improve family functioning and deliver services through the following programs:

The programs provide a multidisciplinary approach offering intensive therapeutic case management, family mediation and restorative conferencing and individual and family counselling.

Therapeutic case management encapsulates the wellbeing domains of the young person and acknowledges how these areas can affect a young person’s ability to have secure relationships and accommodation. Case Managers will work in conjunction with the family counsellors and practitioners to provide wrap around support to the young person and their family to address any intersecting risk factors and complex needs.

The Family Practitioner’s role is to work with young people and their families to build healthy and secure family relationships to minimise family conflict and prevent youth homelessness. The role involves working in a small team of like-minded practitioners that understand the importance of supportive peer supervision. Using the philosophy of mediation, the role will comprise of working with families and young people individually and together to prevent, manage and resolve conflict to keep families engaged, connected and strong.

Family Counsellor 

(Full time, Part time and online roles available)

Conflict Resolution Service (CRS) is looking for an experienced counsellor to work alongside the Safe and Connected Youth program’s leadership and therapeutic teams to facilitate the preservation and reunification of young people and their families, delivering counselling and leading therapeutic interventions aimed at resolving conflict between young people and their families and/or dealing with the effects of trauma, conflict, and abuse.

The Safe and Connected Youth (S&CY) program provides children and young people aged between 8-15 years and their families with support to improve family functioning and reduce the risk of homelessness and the harms and risks linked to homelessness.

S&CY works with children and families experiencing family conflict and where there is a risk of youth homelessness to address their complex and intersecting risk factors through a child centred/family focused integrated service model.

Conflict Resolution Service are the lead agency in partnership with Marymead, to deliver this integrated service.
